Design partner applications open for November 2026

The back office small schools deserve.
Built with the people who run them.

Small schools face the same operational demands as large ones, without the same staff or systems. We're inviting a small group of school leaders to use SchoolStack early and help shape the connected back-office platform launching in 2027.

Four tools are available now. SchoolStack is a program of Building Hope Impact Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Built to meet the moment

Small-school leaders need answers they can act on, not another report. Each SchoolStack tool turns school-founder experience and lender insight into a clear next step. Every tool is free to use today and works on its own, so start with the question in front of you.

Facilities and community

Estimate demand in your community, then size and cost a facility your enrollment can support.

It shows its math, so the decision stays yours to make.

Arriving 2027

One back office, built for small schools

SchoolStack will bring budgeting, financial visibility, compliance, recruitment, enrollment, and payroll management into one place, working alongside QuickBooks Online Advanced as the accounting system of record. Your books stay where your accountant expects them. The work around them stops living in spreadsheets.

QuickBooks Online Advanced requires a separate paid subscription.

Why we build

Built by a founder, for founders

I've been there.

I started out in a middle school classroom, and everything I know about the business side I learned the hard way. I've watched a lot of good school leaders learn it the same way. None of it is intuitive.

I've also raised more than $100 million in philanthropy and public grants, so I know what funders and lenders want to see. We built SchoolStack so you don't have to guess.

Allison Serafin Founder, SchoolStack. Built a nonprofit from the ground up and launched a charter network in a new region.

Last summer we met over 100 school founders who had quit careers and signed personal guarantees to open schools. Most could not see where their financial health was headed. Accounting tells you the past. We wanted founders to see what is coming.

FAQ

Common questions

What can I use today?

All four tools: Space for facilities and community, Budget for five-year financial planning, Access for funding and policy guidance, and Lending Lab for financing. Each works on its own.

What does it cost?

The four tools available today cost nothing to use. Pricing for the 2027 SchoolStack platform has not been finalized. QuickBooks Online Advanced is a separate paid subscription.

What happens in 2027?

Space, Budget, and Lending Lab will connect with the SchoolStack platform. Access will remain a stand-alone guide. We will explain any account or data changes before launch.

What does checking my Lending Lab fit tell me?

It provides an initial indication of whether the school may fit the program and what may need to be strengthened. It is not loan approval. Human underwriting and a credit decision come later.
